Week one: strip out and first fix
The old suite comes out, pipework and cables are altered to suit the new layout, and walls and floors are prepared and tanked where needed.
Week two: tiling and fitting
Sanitaryware, the shower or bath and the screen are installed, then tiling begins. Tiling is the stage most affected by material lead times.
Week three: finishing
Grouting, silicone, flooring, lighting, towel rail, decoration and the handover clean complete the room.
What causes delays
Late-changed tile choices, out-of-stock sanitaryware and hidden problems such as rotten floorboards or old lead pipework. We flag these as soon as they appear.
